COCISD Education Foundation awards 2018-19 grants

The Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD Education Foundation (COEF) awarded a total amount of $37,800 in grants to COCISD teachers and directors for its 2018-19 grant cycle. This is the 7th year the COEF has awarded grants since the group began in 2011. COEF directors presented a check to the COCISD Board of Trustees on Monday, Nov. 26th.

Winter Festival coming up on Monday, Dec. 10th

Save the date! The Coldspring-Oakhurst High School National Honor Society is hosting a free Winter Festival on Monday, Dec. 10th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jones Educational Complex. Younger children will enjoy the many crafts booths and face painting at the Jones gym, while the older crowd will appreciate the complimentary coffee/hot coca bar at the Jones auditorium. The district SHAC (School Health Advisory Council) will provide yummy, nutritious treats. Be sure to bring your camera! Santa will be available for photos.

2018 Red Ribbon Week October 22 - 26

Red Ribbon Week is next week, Oct. 22 - 26. This annual event is a drug abuse awareness program in honor of fallen US Drug Enforcement Agent Enrique "KiKi" Camarena, who was killed for his work against illegal drugs. Dress-up themes are celebrated to encourage students to say no to the use of illegal drugs throughout their lives. All COCISD campuses will participate in the following theme days::

Concerning water levels and possible flooding due to Dam release

There will be no early dismissal today, Oct. 16th, and all after school activities are going on as usual. We are continuing to monitor the Dam output, which is currently at 80,300 CFS. At this time only one bus route may possibly be affected, the one that goes to the river bottoms area of our district. We will notify you of any changes as soon as they become available.
